The World Through My Rose-Tinted Glasses

The sudden and much anticipated, yet slightly unexpected, change in weather from 'how the hell is this classified as Summer' to 'welcome back Sun' has got me feeling very inspired. Of course, it's not the Australian side of summer that inspires me - it actually repulses me just a little bit - but the European class that seems to embody the season's spirit.

Sparkling landscapes, glistening seasides, clubs to die for and those gorgeous Bouganvilla blossoms are what makes up my rose-tinted vision of the season. Granted, this 'vision' of mine is just a tad sucky, as only the second item on my list is available down here, and even then it doesn't come close to that of the Greek Isles or the French Riviera.

Anyway, enough reminiscing and feeling sorry for myself (school starts tomorrow, and I feel like shooting myself in the mouth). Here is the real reason the majority of you here for - pretty pictures bursting with inspiration! Enjoy my lovelies, and talk soon!

Beauty is Everywhere

When you think of beauty, what comes to mind? Is it the skyline of a glistening city *cough - Paris - cough*, or the latest pre-Fall collections that are falling into our laps? In a fashionista’s mind, these things and many more are what we consider beautiful, but what a lot of us seem to forget (myself included) is that we are beautiful! Yes, you too!
Across the globe at this very moment, there are hundreds, maybe thousands, of women who are being told by sympathetic doctors, “you have mesothelioma cancer”. This rare form of cancer makes it easy to forget that you are beautiful too, and when the whole world seems to be out to get you, it can be easy to assume that you are never going to be beautiful again. They give up, dismissing it as a past experience.
The thing about beauty is that it is something that you can make happen for yourself, and it’s something that you feel. Remember that feeling of when you actually fit into that LBD that only had a smaller size available? Or when you bought that insanely gorgeous piece of costume jewellery that went with absolutely everything? Beauty exists within us all, and with a little bit of work, anyone can unlock it by capturing those memories and remembering the feeling. No matter what the circumstances, you are no exception - you are beautiful!
I hope you all enjoyed this different kind of post. I know I usually talk about materialistic things, but sometimes you have to stop and look around. The world is not perfect, and even though we may feel close, there are so many other people out there that we’re all guilty of forgetting about once in a while when consumed by our life bubble. Anyway, again, hope you enjoyed this post, and talk soon!

Take Me Back

As the holidays in Australia dwindle to a close, I have been reminiscing quite a lot about the vacation that my family and I took over the months of June and July. I did go to France, but as much as I go on about Paris and the French Riviera, to me it couldn't compare to Greece, and especially Mykonos.

As I am of Greek background, when I visit it just feels right - I don't feel like a tourist or as if I'm unwelcome. Speaking the language obviously also helps, because knowing more words than 'hello' and 'thank you', and maybe 'how much is this?' for all you super savvy travellers allows you to truly get a feel for the place.

Economic crisis aside, to me Greece is the best place in the world, and all I know is that if I ever have to decide upon travelling to only one place for my entire life, I'll answer in a heartbeat.

Talk soon everyone, new post coming up!

The City of Fashion

Forget lights and love, when it comes to all things fashion, the place to go is Paris. Sorry New York lovers - you guys are great too! - but you can't deny, Paris is the birthplace of designers that have revolutionised fashion and continue to do so. Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior and Hermes; need I say more?

Parisian chic has been a style of dressing coveted through the ages, and it has been argued back and forth that only a true Parisian can embody the finesse. I both agree and disagree - yes, Parisian chic is named so because of its base and strong routes in Paris, but with a little inspiration and style intuition, any true fashionista can pull it off!

From effortless day looks to the glamour and mystery of the night, here are my favourite looks from the French-inspired scene to get you all started!

I've missed you guys so much, and it's good to be back! Holidays are fun, but home is where the heart is, and also where my computer and stable internet connection is!
Talk soon!
