Leather

Does anyone else get that familiar feeling at the start of Fall, where you look outside and think 'I cannot be bothered dressing up today'? That feeling where you just become so lazy that you don't even feel like getting out of bed, let alone directing an outfit? Well ladies, hit that snooze button and get that extra sleep, because new Fall trends are set to make these months a lot more relaxed.
Understated luxury is back, and in a season of minimalism, pieces with texture can go a long way. Everything is coming out leather and it's just about as sophisticated as it gets. With such a broad variety to choose from, you have the freedom to select pieces that tickle your fancy. Adore leather pants? Rock them. Have a soft spot for pencil skirts in soft leather? Flaunt it. Make this season fun and all about you!
If you're more rebellious, there's the leather dress, white T-shirt and eternally sexy leather shorts. For those with more of a feminine side, pretty pieces to soften up the tough look of leather, like silky blouses with leather pants is always a favourite.

If you're the type that wants to REALLY stand out, try leather mixed with lace, which is a big trend on the runway, but definitely not one for the faint-hearted.

Tip: make sure to buy leather in shades of black, brown and tan. No other colours. End of discussion.

Doma, which is an exclusive Argentinian brand, have been proclaimed to be at the forefront on the leather jacket trend, with beautiful, classical colours like black and tan. This fashionable brand of leather is as soft as it comes and it looks amazing with practically anything, especially platform heels, wedges and faded jeans.

Mulberry!

Every year, there are countless numbers of fashion shows, and the most exclusive of them all are Fashion Weeks. In regard to the collections of this Fall, we saw a parade of sleek, feminine and classy designs hit the runway, but there's always the favourites that make a trend.
Mulberry is the essence of luxury English fashion, and as always it brought beautiful, elegant designs. This season saw a parade of sleet yet sugary sweet designs for its fall 2011 collection presented during London Fashion Week. Featuring quilted patterns, pleats and whimsical prints, the Mulberry girl doesn't forgo style for the colder months as proven by the bevy of belted coats and sweaters paired with lightweight silhouettes.

In my opinion, Mulberry's collection was, as always, the perfect example of the modern sophisticated woman that loves her classics, as all of us do in some way.
What was your favourite collection this London Fashion Week? And which did you prefer, London or New York?

Beauty News!

Rich, sophisticated lipsticks are set to be in for a while as of yet, so hold onto those colours ladies and save up for winter!

New perfumes from well-known designers have whipped up a storm, with new fragrances from Jil Sanders (Sensual Jil), Calvin Klein (Beauty), and a much-anticipated fragrance from Juicy Couture (Peace, Love and Juicy Couture).

Purple eyeshadow is making a comeback, with Lancome creating new eyeshadows and looks to celebrate the latest collections inspired by the 1970's sophisticated glamour lines.

Well that's all the beauty news for this Autumn, so get ready for a season of bold, elegant and sophisticated women everyone!

Eau de Toilette

For decades, perfume has been one of the most important rituals in every woman and girl's routine each day. It's almost as important as what you wear and how you do your hair. There have been thousands of perfume brands released over these decades, but to list them all would just be annoying, so here are the top 5 fragrances of last decade.

No.5: Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel

Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel is a feminine fragrance mostly recommended as a day time wear perfume. This perfume was launched in 2001 and possesses a blend of a modern jasmine scent, bergamot, orange and hints of warm musk. This fragrance by Chanel makes women feel exciting, fresh and very feminine.

No. 4: Black Cashmere by Donna Karan

Black Cashmere by Donna Karan is a very feminine fragrance created by the perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux and was launched in 2002. This scent is an exquisite infusion of saffron, patchouli oil and African wengue wood. This fragrance is an amazing perfume to use especially when you go for a night out, but it can also be worn during the day as well.

No. 3: Blonde by Versace

Blonde by Versace is classified as a luxurious, flowery fragrance which is recommended for a romance wear. This perfume is a blend of jasmine and violet notes accented with geranium, rose and ylang-ylang. This fragrance was created in 1995 in honour of Gianni Versace's sister Donatella Versace. This gorgeous fragrance is a very feminine scent with an incredibly intensive and seductive floral composition.

No. 2: Miss Dior  by Christian Dior

Miss Dior by Christian Dior is a modern fragrance that captures the timeless couture spirit of Dior. The woman who wears this perfume projects the most exquisite elegance paired with confidence and resolve of character which is a truly alluring combination. This amazing fragrance contains notes of gardenia, galbanum, bergamot, jasmine, narcissus, rose, patchouli, oak moss, labdanum and sandalwood.

No. 1: Romance by Ralph Lauren

Romance by Ralph Lauren is a women's fragrance that evokes the timeless essence of falling in love. This perfume was launched in the year 1998 and can be classified as a refined, flowery fragrance for women and girls who believe in love and romance. This exquisite fragrance is a sensual essence of velvety woods, exhilarating floral and seductive musk and is recommended for evening wear.

As amazing as these fragrances are, I have to add my personal favourite to this list, because it is truly a magnificent fragrance that you all really should try if you haven't already.

Parisienne by Yves Saint Laurent

This perfume embodies the essence of a woman who is incredibly free. She is not from Paris but Paris adopts her, because she knows how to love and how to live. Parisienne is the fragrance of ultra femininity, ultra sensuality. A grand floral with a woody structure, luminous even in its mystery.

These fragrances are undeniably the best of the best, as they embody the spirit and essence of freedom, love, happiness and everything beautiful and compress it into a bottle. But of course, not every perfume is perfect for everyone, so shop around, do some research and find the fragrances that really show the world who you are, as well as compliment your style.

D&G Spring/Summer

In the fashion world, advertising is just about as important as the actual clothes, so if you don't have the right advertising campaign, your brand is just as likely to succeed as Mary Kate and Ashley in the fashion world...

From

OMG I LOVE THEM! THEY ARE AMAZING! I WISH I WAS THEM! MKA FOREVAAA!

To

... o.O WTF happened?

So to me advertising counts for a LOT. If I see an ad that's like 'Oh come to Gucci, we have cool shoes' and then have some A-class crap photo of some ridiculously anorexic girl wearing high heels, chances are no one's going to want to buy these 'amazing' shoes, and they might actually be pretty good shoes.

Anyway, while I was scanning the internet for anything related to fashion (no, I do have a life outside this, I promise), I came across the advertising campaign for the new Dolce and Gabanna Spring/Summer Collection, and I was really surprised about gorgeous it was!

I mean, the clothes are amazingly unique and gorgeous as always, but what surprised me was how fun and sexy the ads look. I mean, it's not your typical 'Look at me, I'm skinny and gorgeous, unlike you' kind of poster. It looks really inviting and happy, and the models actually looks healthy, as if they're NOT a size zero, like most of the models for Gucci and Chanel. It gives fashion that positive spin and shows that fashion is something that should be fun, not a serious kind of thing. It sort of yells 'BE YOURSELF', and to me that's what fashion is all about.
