Here Comes the Sun!

Well just like yesterday and the day before, in Sydney we had a blessedly sunny and warm-ish day (24oC is pretty good for Fall!), and again it's gotten me feeling like running down to the beach. I miss Summer so much! Just walking around in a long shirt or shorts was a great feeling, and now that it's gone I don't know what to do!

Okay that's my rant, and I know you all don't read my blog everyday just to hear me complain, so as always I have some pretty pictures below to make up for you having to read that paragraph and these four lines of absolute nonsense! They just depict exactly what I love about Summer, so enjoy my lovelies, and have a fabulous Saturday!

Sorry for the picture overload, I just couldn't narrow it down any more! And today was my last day of school (woop woop!), so maybe my brain just can't be bothered... I know I've driven you all crazy with my not-so-new found Spring/Summer season obsession, and that I've probably made half of you already bored of Spring's celebrated arrival, but what can I say, I know what I like!

How Bazaar!

So I just found this blog post - I'd made it so far back it had moved to page 2 or 3, so I never published it. I was about to delete it when I thought, Hey! EVANA! Why on earth would you delete this?! It was once a huge inspiration, share it for crying out loud! And that's exactly what I'm doing. Enjoy my lovelies!

We hardly ever hear of Harpers Bazaar anymore; it's as if it's taken the back seat in terms of fashion magazines. All we ever hear about is Vogue, Numero, Flair, Nylon, Elle..So I was a tad confused when I came across this shoot because, believe it or not, for a split second I'd forgotten Bazaar even existed!

But once upon a time Bazaar was the only thing anyone would talk about, for it's fashion, inspiration, and editors, so it couldn't have just changed! It's nearly as vast as Vogue, nearly every country has it, so why has it faded into the background?

It may just be Australia, coz we usually are a tad misguided when it comes to anything fashion, with only a handful of exceptions, so please comment below if everything I just said was absolutely untrue for your scenario, or you know, you could comment because you like pretty pictures from the Korean edition of Harper's Bazaar? :)

Hope this fabulous spread inspired you as much as I did, and that you all have a fabulous random Monday and an exuberant start to your week!

All that Sparkles

I'm hoping we've all seen it - that fabulous shoot for the brand that's always on everyone's minds and lips. That's right I'm talking about Chanel's new shoot for Spring, I warned you all I would go on a Chanel rant soon! Lucky for you all though, it's not entirely oriented around Chanel, so you all won't die of history and detail overload, promise!

If you haven't seen the shoot, I included most of the shots from it in a previous post (click away!), but the girl I'm talking about is the oh-so gorgeous Freja Beha.

She was discovered on the streets of Denmark, her home town, by a modelling agent passing by in a taxi, believe it or not. She made her grande debut in 2005 at the fall Paris and Milan shows for the exclusive coveted brands Prada, Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu.

Today she continues to walk the runways of New York, paris, Milan and London, for both ready-to-wear and haute couture collections. She has walked for Shiatzy Chen, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Burberry, Alexander Wang, Prada, Balmain, Balenciaga, Christian Lacroix, Zac Posen and Sonia Rykiel, to name a few.

She has also been featured in advertising campaigns for brands Balenciaga, Jil Sander, Gucci, Hugo Boss, H&M, CK by Calvin Klein, Hermes, Chanel, Gianfranco Ferre, Pringle of Scotland, Emporio Armani, Roberto Cavalli, Chloe, Karl Lagerfeld, MaxMara, Valentino, Pollini, Jaeger, GAP and Tom For eyewear. She is one of the faces of Gucci by Gucci along side Natasha Poly and Raquel Zimmermann, and has also starred in the television advertisement directed by David Lynch.

Freja has appeared in editorials for many fashion magazines, including the American, French, Italian, German, British, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Russian editorials of Vogue, Interview Magazine, W Magazine, American and Russian Harper's Bazaar, French and Korean Numero, i-D, V and Purple, and on the covers of British Vogue, Vogue Italia, Purple, Vogue Paris, French and Korean Numero, i-D, V, W Magazine and the Chinese, Portuguese, South Korean and Japanese editions of Vogue.

Miss Erichsen has been referred to as "the queen of cool. Probably one of the most requested models of all my clients. She is the perfect old-school clothes-hanger with a little eighties androgyny thrown in" - James Scully.

So, after her most coveted Valentino shoot, she has been featured in yet another major Spring Summer 2011 campaign photographed by the one and only Karl Lagerfeld. She was joined by Stella Tennant and Baptiste Giabiconi.

Either way, both Chanel and Miss Freja truly sparkle in the sky of fashion, and will always shine just a little bit brighter than the rest.

Freja is an inspiration to me in so many ways, as well as so many other girls and women around the world, for her charisma, looks, style and, of course, her prestige and status amongst all the other fabulously gorgeous models of the world.

Who is your favourite model of all time? And what are your thoughts on Miss Freja? What did you think of the Chanel's new catalogue? Did you love it as much as me? Please say yes, I might not feel as insane if someone does!

I also just want to thank each and every one of you for your amazing comments and for following, you have no idea how much it means to me, so THANK YOU!
