Block Party

It feels like this trend has been around forever now, but colour blocking is still a dominant stakeholder on the fashion scene, and designers seemed to have gotten the memo, since this spring rtw season there was almost always a colour blocked outfit. At first, I hated the idea of a palette of brights plastered into one outfit (the 80s are long gone people!), but with a little guidance and inspirations from designers such as Marc Jacobs and Roksanda Ilincic (one of my personal favourites for colour blocking this season), what's not to love?
Let me know below what you think of the colour blocking trend that keeps hanging around, and don't forget to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Bloglovin'!

Colour Crazy

Even though I'm more of a classical girl when it comes to my clothes, with myself opting for neutral, everlasting colours and styles, I simply cannot avoid getting caught up in the new wave of colour sweeping the fashion world. Looking at someone in a bright, fresh-looking palette of colour just makes me feel super happy - as crazy as that sounds. But what's not to love? The euphoria surrounding this new trend is colossal; everyone who's anyone has been seen in at least once looking fabulous in colour. Tommy Ton has even named it the Biggest Trend of the Year for his Best-Dressed List.

So who else of you have been caught in the fashion fire? Any words of inspiration/guidance/anything at all? Show that comment box some love, and don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' and Twitter!

Trend Report: Summer Romance

... But not in the way you'd expect. We've all seen the colour-blocking trend - almost everyone has tried it. However, we've also seen those people that try to pull off a polished and successful colour block, but sometimes it just doesn't make sense. It's such a tricky trend, and that's why I've hunted down a photo shoot starring the model-of-the-moment Jessica Gomes that gives a little insight into successful colour blocking, and I have to say it's one of the best on colour blocking I've seen, let alone a photo shoot that's made my favourite's list. Check it out and let me know what you think below :)

Trend Report: African Safari

As the Spring/Summer Collections for 2012 are being slowly released by their ingenious designers, there seems to be a pattern emerging - the tribal look is back, but it's more of a mature styling than we're used to, sort of like last season's older, more sophisticated sister.

I'm all for subtler, innovative designs rather than over-the-top animal prints and kaftans, so you can imagine my pleasure when this trend started popping up all over the fashion-sphere and blogosphere. Here are just a few of my favourite looks from this season's new safari looks.

So what do you think about this new trend? Rate it or hate it? And how was everyone's Halloween?
