Style is A'Changing

As Coco Chanel once said, less is more – but is that still the case? Can we honestly say, in this day and age, with Mary Kantrazou and Alexander McQueen sending designs dripping in bold and in vogue down the runway, and with Haute Couture's appraisals being more and more favourable each year, that we wouldn't swap a classic Tiffany charm for a Swarovski cuff? A 2.55 for a Fendi explosion? A smoky eye or a glitteratzi appeal?

Take a look at the Street Style so far and let me know what you think in the comments!

Tommy Ton Down Under

Tommy Ton snaps away at the fashion-savvy on the streets during Sydney fashion week, in my hometown! I was dying to get into the action, but exams have been scheduled, and until I leave any form of education I'm pretty much ruled by the system. I know I haven't blogged in ages (blame the above reason) but as soon as exams are over I pinky-promise I will back full swing!

Haute Couture's New Face?

As we are all well aware, the Haute Couture shows of Fall 2012 were fabulous as always, but it was Christian Dior's collection that left me wondering. It's the first one without John Galliano as the driving force, so naturally the fashion world was waiting. And to be perfectly honest, I loved it! Bill Gayten definitely has an amazing expressive side as a designer, and the clothes were stunning! Here are a few of my favourite looks. What were your thoughts on the collection? Which is your favourite? And is this whole Bill Gayten hype just a fad? I loved how the collection flowed from soft pastels to wild birds-of-paradise-like colours, and then to, of course, the ball gowns. Gorgeous! Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and talk soon!

Don't Think Twice, It's Alright

My beautiful and much-anticipated issue of Russh magazine arrived at my doorstep today, and within mere hours I'd read it cover to cover. I just adore Russh, so this editorial for the April/May issue was no exception.

What's your favourite magazine? My list is limitless, but tying at number one would have to be Vogue and Russh. Let me know yours in the comments, and don't forget to follow me (in a strictly non-creepy way of course, unless you're into that kind of thing ;) ) on Facebook, Twitter and Bloglovin'!

Block Party

It feels like this trend has been around forever now, but colour blocking is still a dominant stakeholder on the fashion scene, and designers seemed to have gotten the memo, since this spring rtw season there was almost always a colour blocked outfit. At first, I hated the idea of a palette of brights plastered into one outfit (the 80s are long gone people!), but with a little guidance and inspirations from designers such as Marc Jacobs and Roksanda Ilincic (one of my personal favourites for colour blocking this season), what's not to love?
Let me know below what you think of the colour blocking trend that keeps hanging around, and don't forget to follow me on Facebook, Twitter and Bloglovin'!
