As I was scrolling through style.com and ogling all of the fashion shows that have been so far for NYFW, I couldn't help but notice that this season's taken a huge step in another direction - from the easy breezy silhouettes of Spring and Summer, it's back to the well tailored and neutral tones for Fall. It may be for the fact that Summer isn't technically over here for another few weeks, or that I'm feeling a tad nostalgic, but I miss colour. This coming from the girl that couldn't pull off colour even if she tried, and doesn't buy a gorgeous shirt because the tone of pink was 'too bright'.
So that's why when I finally got down to the Rebecca Minkoff fashion show, I felt happy. The cool girl chic with a burst of unexpected colours that are still fit for Fall was almost hypnotic. Jewel-tone brocade biker jackets, celestial sequinned pants and on-trend oversize boyfriend blazers dominated the runway, which exemplified Minkoff's brand of assertive femininity.
I must admit, some of the looks didn't exactly work out, but I've poured over the collection and come up with my favourites. Let me know what you think of the collection, and stay tuned for more NYFW news!
