Paris Fashion Week: Chanel Ready-to-Wear

With Paris Fashion Week well underway, and all the big-name designers rocking the catwalk, I decided that it would be ignorant for me NOT to post at least one show from it so far, and what better show than the one and only Chanel Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 2011 Collection.
This season, Karl Lagerfeld went crazy for jumpsuits in a variety of fits, with statement pockets. The show had an apocalyptic feel to it as well as the collection, and was mainly produced from a dark colour palette (blacks, greys, whites and reds). The dresses were generally maxi length and produced from sensual fabrics like lace and tulle. We saw a train of long capes and boxy jackets, and even the most feminine pieces were given edge with applique and leather panels. Key looks and accessories included the quilted back jumpsuit, midi keels, small clutch bags, lace gloves, chains and leather handbags. This collection is targeted at women who still want that classical elegant look but with that rock-chic and tailored edge.

I absolutely adored every single outfit, but I restrained myself (unlike my previous post) and chose my absolute favourite outfits. Enjoy!

What was your opinion on this season's Chanel collection? Are you a fan of the dark edge it harbours, or are you still a die-hard fan for the more classical, feminine look they've featured for a while?
More updates coming soon ladies, YSL and Valentino for sure, and maybe Balmain? Let me know what shows you'd like to see and I'll do my best to cover them all!
